Reflex Integration & Yoga
Sharing as I find this fascinating and hoping others will too. As a yoga teacher specialising in supporting children and young people with SEND and SEMH I am always looking at ways to further help my clients.
Over the past couple of years I have been studying RMTi - Rhythmic Movement Training International, a movement-based therapy which uses short daily exercises that mimic the body’s natural development process to improve the functioning of the body’s innate reflexes (rhythmicmovement.org/rmti-explained/).
Reflex integration has a multitude of benefits for all ages ranging from:
- reducing anxiety
- improving speech difficulties and supports non-verbal - communication
- improving social and emotional skills
- develops better time management
- improving sensory processing skills
and has also shown to be particularly beneficial for those with Autism, ADD/ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia and Sensory Processing Disorder.
I am working towards becoming an RMTi Consultant (rhythmicmovement.org/career-paths/) so I can fully integrate this with the yoga I teach - they complement each other beautifully in my opinion.
Whether you are a yoga professional, teacher, another professional working in this world of therapeutic services, a mum or carer, and you are interested to find out more there are RMTi professionals across the UK and internationally (rhythmicmovement.org/member-type/professional/).
Some of the upcoming trainings in Bradford with Suzanne Roberts who I am training with are here:

No yoga experience necessary.
A warm welcome awaits you.
£10 per week if booked by term. £13 drop in.
"I have now found a new fabulous hobby thanks to Debs. Debs creates a calm, safe space and invites us to make every session our own by allowing us to do just what we need on that particular day or time. Being a parent/carer means needing time for yourself and, quiet time, peace and relaxation and Debs creates this in her sessions. I am so grateful to have found these classes. They restore my energy and peace for the week ahead. Thank you Debs."

Yoga can be for everybody. It's not about handstands or touching your toes. It's about mind, body connection, compassion, acceptance, authenticity and presence.
This is where you'll find me this week and what I offer. I hope to see you somewhere soon.

Really excited to be launching this after half term.
We know teens are struggling - schoolwork, exam pressure, bullying - offline and online, social pressures and lots more...
This 5 week course is for them.
A place for them to be as they are with no demands or questions. No criticism or judgement.
A place they can learn tools and techniques I wish I had had as a teen growing up....
